IPL 2021 Sharjah: Kolkata vs Rajasthan: In the crucial match against Rajasthan, Kolkata batted brilliantly. In Sharjah, Kolkata scored 171 runs in 20 overs and challenged Rajasthan for 172 runs. Responding to this target Rajasthan could score only  85 runs giving KKR much needed win to strengthen their place in play-offs.

The openers got off to a strong start as Kolkata, who lost the toss, needed a big win in today’s match. Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer hit the storm. Iyer was dismissed for 38 off 35 balls. But Shubman Gill hit a powerful half-century. He hit 56 off 44 balls with four fours and two sixes. After Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana scored 12 off 5 balls. It included 1 four and 1 six. Rahul Tripathi was also dismissed for 21 off 14 balls. He hit 3 fours. In the end, Dinesh Karthik scored an unbeaten 13 off 11 balls with one six, while Morgan hit an unbeaten 14 off 11 balls with one four and one six. He helped the team reach 171 runs in 20 overs. Morris, Sakaria, Tewatia and Philip all took 1-1 wickets each.

171 runs scored by Kolkata was the highest score of the season at the Sharjah ground. While chasing this score, Rajasthan team started trembling. Yashaswi Jaiswal (0), Liam Livingstone (6), Sanju Samson (1), Anuj Rawat (0), Shivam Dubey (18), Glenn Philippe (8) and Chris Morris (0) were all dismissed cheaply. Rahul Tewatia scored 44 runs, but he could not get any support. In the end, Rajasthan’s entire team returned to the tent for 85 runs. From Kolkata Shivam Mavi (4/21) & Lockie Ferguson (3/18) were the highest wicket taker while Shakib Al Hasan and Varun Chakravarthy took 1-1 wicket.

Shivam Mavi was declared Man Of The Match for his superb performance of 4 wickets for 21 runs in 3.1 overs.
