The second and final Test match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh saw a dominant performance from Sri Lanka’s top-order batsmen, putting them in a commanding position at 314-4. Kusal Mendis led the way with 93 runs, supported by Dimuth Karunaratne (86) and Nishan Madushka (57).
Bangladesh struggled to make an impact as Sri Lanka batted through the morning session without losing a wicket. Madushka was run out shortly after lunch, but Karunaratne and Mendis built a strong partnership with a 114-run stand. Karunaratne was dismissed by Hasan, who also took the wicket of Angelo Mathews.
Despite Shakib Al Hasan denying Mendis his century, Dinesh Chandimal’s aggressive batting helped Sri Lanka cross the 300-run mark. Sri Lanka currently leads the series 1-0 after a convincing victory in the first Test.
Both teams made some changes to their squads, with veteran all-rounder Shakib returning for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka bringing in Asitha Fernando for the injured Kasun Rajitha. Overall, it was a dominant performance from Sri Lanka’s batsmen in the second Test match.
